Mortal Kombat was not quite prepared to leave the PS2 and original Xbox behind yet, though, not without one last hurrah. By the end of 2006, the sixth generation of video game consoles was nearly done - the Xbox 360 had been released about a year before, and the PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii were only weeks away from launch. Not the end of this retrospective, of course, but the end of the Mortal Kombat of old. ![]()
